现在分词（-ing）句法功能与动作描写

一、核心特征：主动与进行

现在分词在语义上强调主动发出动作或动作正在进行：

1. 作状语：
   • 伴随状语：Sitting by the window, she read a novel.
   • 自然结果状语：The dam broke, flooding several nearby villages.
2. 作定语：
   • 单个分词前置：a barking dog, a developing country
   • 分词短语后置：the man standing under the tree

二、动名词 vs 现在分词

• 动名词：偏名词属性，可在句中作主语与介词后的宾语（如 Swimming is good exercise. / fond of reading）。
• 现在分词：偏形容词和副词属性，作定语、状语与补足语。
