就近原则与就远原则

一、就远原则
当主语后跟有以下伴随介词短语时，谓语动词由前面的主语决定：
with, together with, along withas well asrather thanaccompanied by, including, except
The professor, as well as his assistants, was working on the project.
二、就近原则
当由以下连词连接两个并列主语时，谓语动词由靠近它的主语决定：
either... or...neither... nor...not only... but also...there be句型
Neither the students nor the teacher was late for class.
